Senior financial executive with an international career spanning BBVA and Santander across
eight major global financial centres, including Madrid, Paris, London, New York, Hong
Kong, Bahamas, Geneva, and Brussels.
He has led corporate business development and complex restructuring initiatives, and in his
final role at Santander, prior to retiring in September 2020, he was responsible for the bank’s
relationships with European Institutions, with a particular focus on financial regulation and
policy.
He is currently a member of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), where
he contributes to the Internal Market (INT) and Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECO)
sections.
He holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of
Valladolid, an MBA from the State University of New York (Buffalo), and is a Fulbright
Scholar.
