Assoc. Prof. Eng. Ivan Mitev, PhD, is an established expert and leader in the fields of
innovation, technology, and scientific research, with more than 20 years of professional
experience, including over 10 years in executive and managerial positions within enterprises
and organizations operating in innovative and high-tech sectors.
He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Underground Construction at the
University of Mining and Geology “St. Ivan Rilski”.
Since 2018, he has served as Executive Director of the Bulgarian Mining and Geological
Chamber. Under his leadership, numerous initiatives have been implemented related to the
introduction of innovative solutions in the sector, the modernization of production processes,
and sustainable development.
He is a member of several national and international professional organizations, including the
International Society for Rock Mechanics and Rock Engineering and Euromines, and has
made a significant contribution to the development of legislative reforms in the fields of the
mining industry, innovation, and sustainable development.
