Mr. Dimitar Zarchev is a team member of the Electricity system operator (ESO) since 2007.
He was head of the Division Automated dispatcher control systems for 9 years in the National Dispatching Centre of ESO. Since 2019 he works at the position Director of Directorate Central Dispatching Centre.
In 2021 Dimitar Zarchev was elected as member of the Board of the European association of the electricity transmission operators – ENTSO-E.
The contribution of ESO and the active participation of the company's teams in the operational committees and working groups of ENTSO-E, as well as in the processes of European electricity market integration, led to the well-deserved European recognition and support in 2021 for the candidacy of Dimitar Zarchev for member of the Board of the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-E).
During the years Dimitar Zarchev actively participates with its expertise in the work of the Bulgarian electricity transmission operator for the establishment of the Coordination Center for the South-East Europe countries grid security, as well as in the negotiation processes for the integration of the countries of the Western Balkans into the Single European Electricity Market.
He has made a significant contribution to the achievements of the Electricity System Operator in developing the trans-European infrastructure and ensuring the security of electricity supplies in the context of the transition to climate-neutral energy.
