Katerina Shopova is HR Director of Lidl Bulgaria and a member of the company's Management Board. She has nearly 20 years of experience and expertise in human resources, accumulated across companies in various industries, where she has consistently worked to position the HR function as a strategic business partner in making long-term, complex decisions, including those related to the transformation of the business model and organisational culture.
Katerina Shopova has been with Lidl for more than 8 years. In the context of the company's expansion, she has had the opportunity to lead a comprehensive HR function encompassing multiple units with a shared mission — creating an environment for the full development of employees' potential and setting the highest standards in HR practice.
Katerina Shopova was named HR Manager of the Year 2020 at the awards of the Bulgarian Association for People Management (BAPM), HR Manager of the Year 2022 at the Career Show Awards, and has featured in the top 100 HR professionals in Bulgaria in recent years according to the Career Show Index. In 2024, she was honoured with the HR Leadership Award at the annual Employer of Choice Awards.
