Plamen Abrovsky is an expert in European agricultural law and the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), with extensive managerial and institutional experience at both national and European levels. His professional expertise is focused on the strategic development of the agricultural sector, the management of European funding mechanisms, and the protection of farmers’ interests within the framework of European Union policies.

Throughout his career, he has held several key public positions. Between 2021 and 2022, he served as a Member of Parliament and Chair of the Agriculture, Food and Forestry Committee in the 46th and 47th National Assemblies of Bulgaria. He has also worked as an advisor to the Minister of Agriculture on matters related to European funding, international cooperation, and sectoral policies. In addition, he served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Northeastern State Forestry Enterprise.

A significant part of his professional career is linked to Bulgaria’s representation within the European Union. From 2010 to 2015, he served as a diplomat at the Permanent Representation of Bulgaria to the EU in Brussels, where he was the lead Bulgarian negotiator on the legislative package for the Common Agricultural Policy for the 2014–2020 programming period. His work contributed to safeguarding Bulgaria’s national priorities and strengthening the country’s role in shaping European agricultural policies.

Plamen Abrovski has also served as Secretary General of the National Union of Agricultural Cooperatives and held expert and legal positions within the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency. His practical experience includes administrative and commercial law, state aid mechanisms in agriculture, protection of beneficiaries under European programs, and the preparation of strategic analyses for the agricultural sector.

He holds a Master’s degree in Law from the South-West University “Neofit Rilski”. He is fluent in English and proficient in Russian.
