Simona earned a BSc in Physics from the University of Manchester, but after two internships at CERN, she traded her childhood dream of nuclear physics for a career in artificial intelligence. It was at CERN that she discovered her passion for data and AI, as well as her curiosity about their business applications. Her career began at the British startup Silicon Grid, where she developed a computer vision algorithm for automated energy grid mapping.
She spent much of her professional career at IBM UK as a Technology Consultant and Data Scientist. As early as 2022, she led the company’s first-of-its-kind Generative AI project to optimize a team of over 40 people. Simona has delivered over 30 presentations to leaders of global companies on Generative AI and its business applications, created strategies for AI adoption, and developed AI systems across various industries.
She is currently the co-founder and CEO of Tailored, a fashion-tech AI startup focused on more conscious consumption. Together with her co-founder, they turned the idea into a real product in just five months. Tailored digitizes and manages your wardrobe from the moment you buy a garment to when you wear it and its next life, answering the questions: "What should I wear?", "What should I buy?" and "What should I get rid of?" Optimizing your wardrobe is just the beginning; Tailored aims to become a smart assistant for better decisions on all kinds of purchases.
