Notis Mitarachi is a Member of Parliament, with New Democracy Party (EPP), since

May 2012. He represents the constituency of Chios.

He has served as Minister of Citizen Protection (2023), Minister of Migration & Asylum

(2020-20203), Deputy Minister of Labour & Social Affairs (2019-2020) and as Deputy

Minister of Development and Competitiveness (2012-2015). During the Greek

Presidency (2014), he held the position of President of the Council of the European

Union - Foreign Affairs (Trade).

Mr. Mitarachi had a multi-year international career in the private sector, before

returning to Greece in 2010. He started his career in London in 1998, as an investment

executive, specializing in industrial investments in Eastern Europe. In 2003, he joined

Fidelity International as a Research Analyst and was promoted to Director of Research.

A graduate of University of Nicosia (PhD in Business Administration), INSEAD (MBA),

Oxford University (MSc in Industrial Relations) and The American College of Greece

(BSc in Business Administration). He is also a Visiting Fellow at the University of

Nicosia, a Fellow of the British Chartered Management Institute, a Chartered Financial

Analyst (CFA) Charterholder and holds an Honorary Doctorate (DBA Hon) from the

University of Greater Manchester.

He has been awarded with the Grand Decoration with Shash (Grand Cross) of Honor

in Gold of the Republic of Austria (2022), the Knight Grand Cross of the Order of St.

Agatha of the Republic of San Marino (2022), the Grand Commander of the Order of

the Crown of the Kingdom of Belgium (2022) and the Grand Commander of the Order

of the Apostle & Evangelist Mark of the Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa

(2013).

Born in 1972 and married to Maria Dourida, an academic, with whom he has one

daughter.
